There is no secret that Royal Enfield is developing dozens of motorcycles on its 350cc, 450cc, and 650cc platforms. One of such bikes, the Scrambler 650, which is based on the 650cc platform, has been spotted testing again. The latest batch of spy shots has come after the recently spotted Classic 650 test mule. Currently, the Royal Enfield's 650cc line-up comprises the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, and Super Meteor 650.

Upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler 650: Design

The Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 features a typical scrambler bodywork. As seen in the spy photos, it looks rugged with the ribbed-pattern single-piece seat, side-slung single exhaust, a small oval panel (which is slightly offset), large and different tyres, wire-spoke wheels paired with black rims, distinctive tail section with Super Meteor 650-inspired taillight, and a raised handlebar. Overall, the Scrambler 650 appears near-production ready.

Upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler 650: Engine

Powering the upcoming Scrambler 650 will be the same 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled SOHC engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. This motor, on the other 650cc models, produces 47PS and 53.3Nm of torque. However, RE is likely to tune it up to suit the character of the Scrambler 650.

Upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler 650: Specs and Features

The Scrambler could be the second 650cc motorcycle after the Super Meteor 650 to get Showa's upside-down front forks. Going by the spy shots, it will come with a dual spring setup at the back. Further, the Scrambler 650 may borrow a single disc for both ends from either the Interceptor or Super Meteor 650. On top of that, RE is likely to offer an LED headlight, a single pod cluster with Tripper navigation, a USB socket, and new switchgear similar to 2023 INT 650.

Upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler 650: Launch and Price

We expect Royal Enfield to launch the Scrambler 650 by the end of this year or early next year. The brand has trademarked a few names for its upcoming motorcycles, such as Bear or Sherpa, and one of them could be given to the Scrambler 650. With the new equipment, the Scrambler 650 is likely to attract a higher premium.
