On the occasion of its 25th year anniversary in India, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd announced new launches and updates for its on-sale two-wheelers. However, the most important announcement was about an all-new motorcycle from Aprilia, which is likely to be the RS 440. More to the point, this upcoming Italian supersport has been spotted testing overseas without heavy camouflage. Interestingly, the test mule of the new Aprilia was also spied testing in India a few days ago.

Upcoming Aprilia RS 440 Design

The new Aprilia 440, as seen in the spy shots, has not covered in any camouflage, hence revealing its aggressive bodywork. There is no doubt the supersport appears sporty and is also reminiscent of its elder sibling, the RS 660. In terms of the design highlights, it features the familiar face with twin pod headlamps, sharp cuts and creases on the fairing, an underbelly and concealed exhaust system, a split-seat, and a sculpted fuel tank. Having said that, the colour of the swing arm and engine casing differs from this test mule to the model spotted in India. Overall, if the spy pictures are to go by, the RS 440 will bear a familiar, sporty, and aggressive design language.

Upcoming Aprilia RS 440 Powertrain

Powering the RS 440 is likely to be a 400cc-450cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled four-valve DOHC engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. It could produce power output ranging between 45-50PS.

Upcoming Aprilia RS 440 Specifications and Features

The spy shots have already revealed that the motorcycle will come with upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock. It will also get a large front disc, likely above 300mm, and a single rear disc. Further, the Italian marque could offer adjustable brake and clutch levers and some form of adjustability for front and rear suspension. In terms of features and electronics, the RS 440 may boast ride-by-wire, switchable dual-channel ABS, cornering ABS, traction control, riding modes, digital cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and bi-directional quick-shifter, among others.

Upcoming Aprilia RS 440 Launch and Price

It is said that Aprilia will launch the RS 440 in India either by the end of this calender year or in early 2024. Since it will manufacture the supersport in the country, the prices of RS 440 could range between Rs 3.40-3.80 lakh. Upon launch, it will compete against the Kawasaki Ninja 400, KTM RC 390, and the upcoming Yamaha YZF R3.
