More affordable Ather 450S to get new display; India launch soon
Ather Energy is readying its most affordable electric scooter, the new 450S, for the India launch, which is said to take place on 3 August, 2023. The EV two-wheeler maker has also teased the 450S a few times. With this, the upcoming EV will join the brand's on-sale 450X and 450X Pro Pack. It is to be noted that the Bangalore-based company has already revealed price and a handful of details about the 450S. In fact, it also recently disclosed the new display coming to the electric scooter.
Upcoming Ather 450S: What to expect?
The more affordable offering from Ather, the 450S electric scooter, will come with a price tag of Rs 1,29,999 (excluding state incentives). Unlike the TFT colour touchscreen of the 450X, the 450S will feature a new LCD display, which will be a non-touchscreen unit. However, this coloured segmented display could get Bluetooth connectivity. The instrument console is likely to display a slew of information, such as speedometer, range, clock, battery status, riding modes, trip meters, and so forth.
The crux of the upcoming 450S will be its 3kWh battery pack offering an IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 115km. It will provide a top speed of 90kmph, which is identical to its elder sibling. However, the brand has not revealed the electric motor specifications yet.
Upcoming Ather 450S: Rivals
Upon launch, the new Ather 450S will take on the likes of the Ola S1 and TVS iQube in India. These electric scooters offer a claimed range of 141km (ARAI) and 100km, respectively.
