Pininfarina Battista to make global debut next week

The first production-spec model of Automobili Pininfarina's groundbreaking pure-electric Battista super GT will make its premiere on Californian roads as part of a series of thrilling experiences designed for the company's clientele during the forthcoming Monterey Car Week which is from August 12 to 15. The Battista has black gloss precision polished Impulso rims and trademark black exposed characteristic carbon fibre bodywork.

Inside, the first production-spec model from the Cambiano atelier in Italy includes quilted Pilota seats in Iconica Blu Alcantara and black sustainable premium leather with stunning Iconica Blu contrast stitching. Pilota Carbon Components are included in the seats, which are finished in black exposed trademark carbon to match the stunning appearance.

The rare super GT will be accompanied at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance by a fleet of classic Pininfarina-designed cars to honour more than 90 years of design brilliance as part of an elaborate programme developed for Automobili Pininfarina's North American clientele.

The unique Battista Anniversario, a homage to the life and work of design pioneer Battista 'Pinin' Farina, will also make its US debut during Monterey Car Week. It is the apex of Automobili Pininfarina's Pura design concept, with aerodynamic improvements and customised details creating a distinctly dynamic personality. It is limited to only five vehicles worldwide.

After being constructed by Pininfarina's team of artisans in Italy, the Battista will be shown in production specification for the first time in the world. The 1,927PS electric super GT is the fastest and most powerful Italian sports vehicle ever built, and each one will represent the peak of environmentally friendly luxury.

Only 150 Battista super GTs will be built for clients all over the world. The majority of sales will come from North America and Europe, followed by the Middle East and Asia. The super GT is available for order through a global network of specialist merchants and starts at $2.2 million.

Per Svantesson, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina, said: "The premiere of the first production-specification Battista in the US marks the beginning of another significant chapter in the Automobili Pininfarina story. We are excited to showcase the beautiful and sustainable future of luxury to our clients while celebrating more than 90 years of Pininfarina design heritage during Monterey Car Week. We look forward to our clients in the US experiencing the immense dynamic performance and personalised luxury of Battista for the first time."
