Ampere Nexus e-scooter launched; prices start at Rs 1.10 lakh

Ampere Electric introduced its latest addition to the electric scooter lineup in India today, the Nexus with prices starting at Rs 1.10 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The Nexus is offered in two variants: EX and ST, with the top-spec ST variant priced at Rs 1.20 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). Customers can choose from four vibrant colour options: Zanskar Aqua, Indian Red, Lunar White, and Steel Grey. Bookings for the Nexus EV have already commenced with a booking amount of Rs 9,999, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in May 2024.

Ampere Nexus: Highlights

The Nexus is powered by a 3kWh battery pack paired with a new electric motor generating a peak power of 4kW. With a claimed range of 136km and a top speed of 93kmph, the Nexus offers impressive performance for urban commuting. The battery pack can be fully charged in three hours and 22 minutes, ensuring minimal downtime.

Ampere has given it a Bluetooth-enabled seven-inch colour TFT touchscreen incorporating SmartSense technology. It offers five riding modes, all-LED lighting, a front disc brake, telescopic front forks, dual rear shock absorbers, and 12-inch alloy wheels for a smooth and comfortable ride. Whereas, the entry-level EX variant comes with a 6.2-inch LCD display unit and a slightly pared-down feature set.

Meanwhile, Following the introductory offer, prices for the Ampere Nexus EX will increase from Rs 1.10 lakh to Rs 1.20 lakh, while the Ampere Nexus ST will see a rise from Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.30 lakh after the offer period ends. That said, the e-scooter takes on the Ather Rizta, Ola S1, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and River Indie.
