Volvo Car India records 52 per cent growth in H1 2021 sales, XC60 SUV bestseller

Volvo India recently launched the latest S60 in the Indian market and has planned future launches like the all-electric XC40 Recharge. Volvo has recorded its strongest half-yearly sales this year with 3,80,757 units sold globally. Talking of the Indian market, Volvo sold 713 units in the period of January-June 2021 as opposed to 469 units sold in the same period last year.

The Volvo XC60 mid-size luxury SUV was the highest-selling Volvo in India in the first half of 2021. It comes powered with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 235PS and 480 Nm of torque. Volvo offers the XC60 in single fully-equipped Inscription trim that comes with standard AWD. Moving further, Volvo is prepping up to launch the XC40 Recharge electric SUV in the Indian market. In addition to that, Volvo will also launch the petrol variants of the S90 premium sedan and XC60 in late 2021. Know more about the facelifted Volvo XC60 heading to India here.

On the sales performance, Mr Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director, Volvo Car India said, "Volvo Car India said "A 52% growth in the high-end luxury mobility during a highly depressed consumer sentiment phase and major covid restrictions in the marketplace shows the confidence that the Indian consumer has in Brand Volvo. Despite uncertain conditions, it has been a good first half for the company giving us a strong base as we move forward in the year and bring new products to our consumers."
