- The interiors get physical buttons for volume, climate and hazard lights
- Features a 10.25-inch digital dash and a 13-inch infotainment unit
- Gets a "Secret Sauce" display mode
The interiors of the upcoming 2026 Volkswagen ID Polo has been revealed by the brand and the talking point is the return of physical buttons for volume, climate and hazard lights. These tactile buttons have replaced touch panels and sliders which is a move that also aligns with the new 2026 Euro NCAP safety standards. Operating physical buttons while driving is more precise than using touch sliders and panels that sometimes can malfunction and could be imprecise as well.

The interiors follow a 'Pure Positive' design language, which features fabric-covered surfaces on the dashboard and door inserts. The brand claims a pleasant feel for all surfaces, buttons, controls and handles. The new cockpit layout focuses on intuitive operation with key elements that include displays with clear information and tidy menu structures, more buttons for direct functions, and a multi-function steering wheel with clear button controls.
The cabin also features two large displays placed in a straight line, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. There is a 'Secret Sauce' theme for the digital dash, with a press of a button the digital cockpit displays transform into classic views from the Golf I of the 1980s. It converts the display to analogue-style battery and speed dials. The infotainment unit also adds a tape-deck kind of animation. Production will start in Spain and it is slated for last quarter of this year.
