Manufacturers are increasingly turning to CNG choices as gasoline costs rise. They are far less expensive than gasoline alternatives in terms of daily operating costs, and they are also a cleaner fuel. Even though these vehicles are low on power they are slowly gaining traction as the preferred choice among buyers these days. We have listed down the most efficient CNG cars in a list dominated by Maruti Suzuki vehicles.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG is the latest entrant to the CNG world and is priced at Rs 8.14 lakh (ex-showroom). The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 77PS and 98.5 Nm of peak torque and is only paired to a five-speed manual transmission. Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG offers a mileage of 31.12 km/kg.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system, electrically adjustable and folding ORVMs, tilt steering, and a push start/stop button are all standard features Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso

The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso returns 31.2km/kg and starts from Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by the 1.0 litre, three-cylinder engine offering 66PS and 90 Nm in petrol guise going down to 58PS and 78Nm in CNG format.

The whole inside is finished in black, with orange accents on the dashboard and side AC vents. The seats include red pattern stitching and non-adjustable headrests in both the front and rear. With a centrally positioned instrument cluster, touchscreen system with Maruti Smart Play studio, dual front airbags, USB and 12-volt switch, and steering mounted controls, the equipment list is segment standard.

Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 CNG

Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 in CNG is the cheapest car on this list with a starting price of Rs 4.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and returns 31.59km/kg. The 796 cc, 3 cylinder petrol engine makes 48PS power and 69 Nm torque in petrol guise, going down to 40PS and 60 Nm in CNG mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR CNG

The Maruti Suzuki WagonR CNG has a claimed 32.52km/kg. The 1-litre unit in the WgonR produces 57PS and 90Nm of torque. The Maruti Suzuki WagonR CNG starts from Rs 6.13 lakh (ex-showroom).

Twin-tone interiors, an amber instrument cluster, idle start-stop technology, front power windows, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and body-coloured bumpers are all standard on the Wagon R. This model comes solely with a five-speed manual transmission, and the rear luggage compartment is only available on CNG-equipped models.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG

The Maruti Suzuki  Celerio's CNG model, which features a 60-litre CNG tank, is the most fuel-efficient car on this list with 35.60 km/kg. A 1.0-litre three-cylinder K10C petrol engine with 66PS and 89Nm of torque powers the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG. The model generates 56PS and 82Nm of torque in CNG mode.

This engine is only available with a five-speed manual gearbox and is only offered in one variation, the VXi.

A 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple Carplay, semi-digital instrument cluster, 15-inch alloy wheels, push-button start, steering-mounted controls, 60:40 split back seats, and motorised mirror adjustment are among the significant features. The Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with all of the government-mandated safety measures, as well as hill-start assist.

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG is priced at Rs 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom).
