Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire CNG launched at Rs 8.14 lakh (ex-showroom)

For 2022, Maruti Suzuki has announced its second CNG model. In India, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG has been introduced at a starting price of Rs 8.14 lakh (ex-showroom). A 1.2-litre petrol engine powers the CNG version, which is available in VXI and ZXI models.

The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 77PS and 98.5 Nm of peak torque and is only paired to a five-speed manual transmission. The suspension has also been retuned, according to Maruti, and the Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG is expected to offer a stunning mileage of 31.12 km/kg.

In the same segment, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG will face off against Hyundai Aura CNG and Tata Tigor CNG.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG will have the same features as the gasoline-powered variant. A leather-wrapped steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system, electrically adjustable and folding ORVMs, tilt steering, and a push start/stop button are all standard features.

The debut of Maruti Suzuki's S-CNG car range is in line with the Indian government's goal of lowering oil imports and increasing natural gas's part of the country's primary energy mix from 6.2 percent to 15 percent by 2030. The government is also aiming to expand the country's CNG fuel pump network as quickly as possible.

Speaking on the occasion, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "As the world pivots towards a greener future, Maruti Suzuki has continually worked on expanding its growing portfolio of green vehicles. With transformative technology like the S-CNG, more and more customers are actively looking to switch to S-CNG vehicles to fulfill their mobility requirements. Today, we have the largest portfolio of 9 green S-CNG vehicles. With low running costs and high fuel efficiency of S-CNG vehicles, their demand has tremendously gone up as we have witnessed a 19 per cent CAGR increase in our S-CNG sales in the past five years. This is a testimony that customers are increasingly embracing technologically advanced, eco-friendly, factory-fitted and safe Maruti Suzuki S-CNG vehicles."

The Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire CNG VXi is priced at Rs 8.14 lakh while the ZXi CNG variant is priced at Rs 8.82 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
