Tata Motors has taken the wraps off the 2023 Nexon.EV facelift in India ahead of its 14 September, 2023 India launch. The carmaker will commence bookings for the updated electric SUV on the occasion of World EV Day on 9 September, 2023. Customers will be able to reserve their Nexon.EV for a token amount of Rs 21,000. This mid-life facelift has brought a wide range of changes, including a new design, a fresh cabin, upgraded electric powertrain, slightly increased range, better aerodynamics, and additional features, among others.

Tata Nexon.EV facelift: Variants and Colours

The updated electric SUV is available in a choice of three variants: Creative, Fearless, and Empowered across seven colour options: Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Intensi-teal, Flame Red, Creative Ocean, Fearless Purple, and Empowered Oxide.

Tata Nexon.EV facelift: Range, Battery capacity, and Charging

Tata has upgraded the electric powertrain for the Nexon.EV facelift, including an addition of the new-gen electric motor. There are two versions of the EV: Mid range (MR) and Long range (LR). While the refreshed Nexon.EV retains the same 30.2kWh and 40.5kWh battery packs, respectively, the range has gone up from the previous 312km and 453km to 325km for the Mid range and 465km for the Long range trims. Both versions support 7.2kW AC Type-2 and 50kW DC CCS2 charging. An important addition to the electric SUV is vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-load facility that can charge other EVs as well as electronic appliances. The electric motor, when paired with the MR and LR battery packs, produces 129PS/215Nm and 145PS/215Nm, respectively.

Tata Nexon.EV facelift: Exterior Design

The Nexon.EV facelift is largely identical to the Nexon facelift expect for the full length front light bar and distinctive front bumper with air curtains to improve aerodynamics. The key design highlights include vertically stacked LED projector headlamps, fog lights with cornering function, dynamic indicators, and a light stripe running across the width at the rear, and 16-inch alloy wheels with aero panels.

Tata Nexon.EV facelift: Interior

Similar to the exterior, the interior carries the same layout as the Nexon facelift. However, Tata has given the Nexon.EV facelift a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with its new Hey Tata voice assistant along with support to Siri, Alexa, and Google assistants. Interestingly, one can even download OTT apps, such as Disney Hotstar, and Amazon Prime Video, including YouTube via this infotainment system and watch web series while the car is being charged or waiting for someone. Other features include paddle shifters, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument console, a new two-spoke steering wheel, and capacitive touch switches, a nine-speaker JBL sound system, and a new Range Rover-style drive mode selector, among others.

Tata Nexon.EV facelift: Features and equipment

The feature-list of the Nexon.EV consists of a 360deg camera, updated ZConnect app, front parking sensors, height-adjustable co-passenger seat, new telematics, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, blind spot view monitor, and so on. It also gets six airbags across all variants, ESP, hill hold and descend control, an electric sunroof, wireless charging pad, ventilated seats, an air purifier, cooled glove box, and auto headlamps and wipers, 45W USB Type-C ports (which can also charge a laptop), improved four-level regen modes, and three drive modes, among others.

Tata Nexon.EV facelift: Pricing

We expect the 2023 Nexon.EV facelift to command a higher premium over the previous model, which was priced between Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 19.54 lakh (ex-showroom). The new prices could start from Rs 14.60-14.80 lakh and go up to Rs 19.99 lakh.
