Renault and Caterham join hands to revive Alpine brand
While unveiling the exciting Alpine concept back in May, Renault had dropped an inkling that it is looking to revive brand Alpine. To that effect, the French automaker has now announced that it is partnering with Caterham to make sports car at its Alpine factory in Normandy. In the Societe des Automobiles Alpine Caterham (SAAC) partnership between the two, Caterham will have 50 per cent stake.
Caterham chairman Tony Fernandes said that the partnership is looking at producing a car with F1 tech that will be affordable as well. Further, Caterham's website has started teasing a silhouette of a coupe which closely resembles the Alpine A110-50 concept. Both the companies have said that they within four years, they will launch a new model each.
