Volkswagen Taigun GT Line, GT Plus Sport launched in India; prices start at Rs 14.08 lakh

Volkswagen has introduced two new variants of the Taigun, named the Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport. These new variants of the Taigun focus on cosmetic enhancements inside and out. Notably, they are now available with both the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre engine options. Volkswagen is also offering an introductory offer of a complimentary four-year Service Value Package (SVP) on the Taigun GT Plus Sport variants.

2024 Volkswagen Taigun GT Line and GT Plus Sport: Ex-showroom pricing

The Taigun GT Line comes powered by the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 115PS and 178Nm of torque. The six-speed manual gearbox variant has been priced at Rs 14.08 lakh, while the Rs the six-speed automatic transmission costs Rs 15.63 lakh.

On the other hand, the Taigun GT Plus Sport variant, featuring the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine that makes 150PS and 250Nm of torque, is priced at Rs 18.53 lakh for the six-speed manual gearbox, and Rs 19.73 lakh for the seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

2024 Volkswagen Taigun GT Line and GT Plus Sport: Highlights

The new GT variant of the Taigun gets tinted headlights, red GT badge on the grille, black grille, a distintive finish for the underbody spoiler and diffuser, and 17-inch Cassino Black alloy wheels, black finished ORVMs, window frame, B- and C-pillars; Carbon Steel shade for the roof, and red brake callipers. Whereas, the GT Plus variant come with blacked-out model designations and GT Line badges on the fenders and tailgate.

On the inside, both the Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport variants feature an all-black interior theme with red ambient lighting. However, the GT Plus Sport variant goes further with red highlights on the dashboard, a sport steering wheel with red stitching, and metallic pedals. Plus, the 1.5-litre GT Plus Sport variants boast red stitching on the seats and 'GT' lettering on the backrest. On the other hand, the 1.0-litre TSI GT Line has a grey crystal grey-coloured stitching on the seats and steering wheel.

Volkswagen continues to offer features, such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-inch all-digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, engine start/stop button, paddle shifters, USB charging ports, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat, ambient lighting, sunroof, six airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD, and TPMS, among others.
