New Tata Altroz CNG bookings commence in India; launch soon
Tata Motors has officially commenced bookings of the Altroz CNG in India for Rs 21,000. It has also been confirmed that the deliveries of the CNG-powered hatchback will start by May 2023. Notably, the Altroz CNG launch is likely to happen in the coming weeks.
Tata Altroz i-CNG: Variants and Colours
The upcoming Altroz CNG will be available in a choice of four variant options: XE, XM+, XZ, and XZ+. On top of that, Tata will offer it with four colour schemes: Opera Blue, Arcade Grey, Avenue White, and Downtown Red. It is to be noted that the petrol and diesel-powered versions come with seven distinctive paint options.
Tata Altroz i-CNG: Powertrain
The Altroz CNG will come powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated Revotron petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. While this engine generates 88PS and 115Nm of torque, it will produce 77PS and 97Nm of torque in the CNG mode. Further, the Altroz CNG will benefit from a direct start in the CNG mode like the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG. Plus, it will come with a single ECU and micro switch function.
The Altroz CNG will feature a unique CNG tank setup. Unlike the conventional 60 litres tank, it will come with two separate CNG tanks, 30 litres each, that will be placed under the boot floor section. This setup provides more space for luggage than the traditional CNG tank system.
Tata Altroz CNG: Features
Since the Altroz CNG will be available in the XE, XM+, XZ, and XZ+ variants, it will likely benefit from a range of features, such as iRA connected car features, rear wiper and washer, auto headlamps and wipers, sliding front armrest, digital instrument cluster, cooled glovebox, engine start/stop switch, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and cruise control, among others.
Tata Altroz CNG: Prices
We expect the Altroz CNG to attract a higher premium of about Rs 30,000-50,000 compared to the standard variants. The prices of the standard Altroz range between Rs 6.45 lakh and go up to 10.40 lakh (both ex-showroom, Mumbai).
