Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic launched in India, priced at Rs 98 lakh

Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the all-new C 43 4MATIC alongside the facelifted GLE, with the fresh new sports sedan priced at Rs 98 lakh. With the debut of the Mercedes-AMG C 43, the German luxury brand now has nine AMG vehicles in the nation.

Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic: Powertrain

A new 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder powers the AMG C 43 turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 408PS and 500Nm of torque. It comes mated to an AMG Speedshift nine-speed automatic transmission and a 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. Notably, this engine is the first in a production series to feature an electric gas exhaust turbocharger and 48V mild hybrid assistance. The vehicle can accelerate from zero to 100kmph in a claimed 4.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 265kmph.

Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic: Design

Mercedes-AMG C 43 sedan returns to India and this time in its W206-gen avatar. The performance-oriented sedan is equipped with a Panamericana grille, AMG-specific front and rear bumpers, a rear diffuser, adaptive LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights, gloss-black wing mirrors, a boot lip spoiler, and quad exhaust tailpipes.

Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic: Interiror and Features

Inside the cabin, the vehicle appears familiar but includes sports seats and a new steering wheel with AMG Drive Unit. Notably, it features distinctive red seat belts. Other interior highlights comprise an AMG-specific 12.3-inch driver display, an 11.9-inch central information hub with AMG-specific apps and functions, USB Type-C ports, AMG ride modes, 64 colours ambient lighting, a 15-speaker Burmester sound system, a wireless charging pad, and dual-zone temperature control.

Mercedes-AMG has equipped the C 43 4Matic with several features and technologies, including rear-axle steering, AMG Dynamics, AMG sport exhaust, AMG sports suspension with ride control, AMG sport braking system, ESP dynamic cornering assist, telematics, seven airbags, 360-degree camera, TPMS, ABS, brake assist, and a heads-up display, among others.

In India, it competes against the BMW M340i and the Audi S5 Sportback.
