Lotus unveil the 600PS all-electric Lotus Eletre SUV
Lotus. the British sports car maker has just unveiled to the world the Lotus Eletre, an all-new electric SUV. Claimed to be the first-ever electric Hyper SUV, Lotus further went on to state that this will be the first of three electric cars they have planned over the next 4 years.
The Lotus Eletre is based on the Lotus Emira sports car in many aspects, except for the SUV design feature. The Lotus Eletre is constructed on Lotus' all-new Electric Premium Architecture, which is extremely adaptable (EPA).
The Lotus Eletre has a sloping, coupe-like roofline and an aggressive, forward-leaning snout. Split-style headlights, an overhanging front lip, a streamlined grille design with active aerodynamics that allow the components to expand for faster cooling and a dual-tone colour treatment are all included.
The Lotus Eletre has a total range of roughly 600 kilometres and a battery capacity of 100 kilowatt-hours. A 350kW charger, according to Lotus, can offer 400km of range in just 20 minutes.
Paired with an all wheel drive system and 600PS, Lotus claim a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in around 3 seconds.
The car comes with four drive modes, which adjust the steering, damper settings, powertrain and accelerator pedal response. The modes are Range, Tour, Sport, Off-Road and Individual, and are standard on all versions of the car.
The Lotus Eletre is equipped with four lidar sensors: two on the top, one on the windshield, and one above the back glass. According to Lotus, the car is capable of completely autonomous driving.
The dashboard arrangement in the interior has a clear focus on simplicity while still seeming incredibly appealing to the senses. The driver display, which is roughly 30 mm tall and expands horizontally to meet the 15.1-inch primary HD infotainment screen, is pretty unusual. In addition, an augmented reality HUD will be included as standard. Customers also get to choose between to audio systems from British brand KEF. the standard system comes with a 15 speaker setup while the upgradable system is a 2,160-watt 23-speaker system with Uni-Q and 3D surround sound technology.
Manufacturing of the Geely-owned Lotus Eletre will take place at the all-new hi-tech facility in China.
