Kia Seltos facelift set to make Indian debut later this year
Kia Motors entered the Indian market in 2019 with the Kia Seltos SUV and it was just the car the Indian market wanted. The Seltos has grown to become one of the most popular SUVs in the market and now the car is all set to receive its much-awaited refresh. The facelift model has been globally available since mid-2022 and Kia India is now looking forward to introducing the car by July 2023. A test mule was recently spotted testing in India and some changes seem very evident.
The biggest change is easily the new panoramic sunroof. The Seltos has been available with a single pane sunroof but the facelift model will bring with it the entire panoramic view much like its sister cousin, the Hyundai Creta. Of course, this will only be fitted to the top-end variants.
The updated Seltos gets a new front grille and a new set of LED projector headlamps. At the back, the changes seem more clear with a redesigned bumper and new connected LED tail lights. There is also a new set of alloy wheels.
Underneath the hood, the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines will be carried from the current car. But we are expecting the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 160PS and 253Nm of torque. All engines are expected to be offered with iMT (clutchless manual) and automatic transmissions.
The Seltos facelift will also get twin 10.25-inch displays, dual-zone automatic climate control, an electronic parking brake, ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate, and a wireless charger. Other updates expected in the facelifted Seltos also include the addition of ADAS features such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance. Additional safety features include six airbags as standard, hill-assist control and vehicle stability management.
It will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross.
