Kerala state police inducts 49 all-new Force Gurkha's into their fleet
Despite intense competition from established players, Force Motors has secured the prized order for the supply of 49 All-New Gurkha to the Kerala state police force. The Force Gurkha SUVs have joined the Kerala Police Department's fleet of 72 Mahindra Bolero SUVs.
On February 11, 2022, the ceremonial key was handed over to Manoj Abraham, Additional Director General of Police, in Tiruvananthapuram, in the presence of senior state police authorities. The Gurkha Police Vehicles will be used to patrol the border and protect the state from criminal activity.
Force Motors designed Gurkha Police Vans to meet the police department's high standards, ensuring speed and stability on harsh terrain. The vehicles are fitted with Force Motors' proven, tough, and dependable components such as engines and gearboxes. The police cars are outfitted with high-intensity rooftop flashing lights, a siren, and the Kerala State Police Department's logo, as well as seats that can be customised to meet their needs.
Three-door variants of the Force Gurkha units have been integrated into the Kerala Police fleet. It has bi-LED headlights and LED daytime running lights. It boasts 16-inch alloy wheels on the sides, which are set within substantial wheel arches with black claddings. It also comes with a functioning snorkel, which aids the Gurkha's 700 mm water-wading capacity.
The Gurkha features a 2.6-litre, 91PS Mercedes-derived common rail, direct injection, turbocharged diesel engine under the hood. The All-New Gurkha has a redesigned body that is bigger and longer, new interiors, a new crash-complaint, high-strength C-in-C chassis, and new coil spring suspension on all four wheels. The hydraulically operated clutch with booster and 5-speed Mercedes G-28 gearbox with cable shift enable smooth gear changes.
The Force Gurkha is currently priced at Rs 14.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
