EMotorad is making preparations to enhance its current manufacturing facility in Pune. After the completion, India will be a home to two of the world's largest gigafactories: one for Ola Electric two-wheelers and another for EMotorad e-cycles.

Covering a 2,40,000 sq ft in Phase 1, EMotorad's gigafactory will produce all giga components, including batteries, motors, displays, and chargers â€" critical elements in EV production and a significant leap forward for the startup. With an initial production capacity exceeding 5,00,000 e-cycles annually, the gigafactory aims to meet the growing demand for alternative modes of transportation.

EMotorad is strategically positioned to enhance its product range by introducing advanced Gen-2 platform electric vehicles, incorporating Industry 4.0 standards and leveraging smart manufacturing and intelligent factories.

The construction of the e-cycle gigafactory is divided into four phases. Upon completion of Phase 1, it will become South Asia's largest integrated e-cycle gigafactory and the largest outside of China. Phase 1, starting in August, will focus on giga component production, with subsequent phases enhancing in-house manufacturing capabilities. The recent series B funding round, with participation from investors such as former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has fuelled this expansion.

EMotorad experienced a remarkable 370 percent growth in the domestic market last year, continuing its impressive streak for the fourth consecutive year. With the launch of their cost-effective X-factor range and advanced drivetrain technology, EMotorad intends to establish dominance in both domestic and international markets. EMotorad also plans to showcase its offerings at some expos this year, including Eurobike in Frankfurt, Germany, scheduled for July 2024.
