Tata Motors has previously teased the Safari facelift, a new version of their flagship SUV. Tata has now begun taking reservations for the seven-seater SUV. Customers who are interested in the new model may reserve it for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000, with delivery set to begin later this month.

Just like how the Nexon facelift got new trim names, the Safari update also comes with new simplified variant names. These include Smart, Pure, Adventure and Accomplished.

Tata Safari facelift: Design

The new Safari will have a new close-patterned grille with bronze-coloured vertical slats, a long LED bar reaching over the bonnet with a welcome function, a new set of LED headlights integrated into the front bumpers, and a new exterior colour.

Of course, the Harrier and Safari facelifts each have their own individual characteristics. The side profile of the Safari facelift basically looks the same, with the exception of a new set of alloy wheels. The rear bumper, skid plate, and LED tail lights have all been updated.

In terms of colour options: Cosmic Gold, Galactic Sapphire, Stardust Ash, Stellar Frost, Oberon Black, Supernova Copper and Lunar Slate.

Tata Safari facelift: Powertrains

The Safari facelift will continue to be driven by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 170PS and 350Nm of torque. This engine is combined with a six-speed manual transmission and a torque converter that sends power to the front wheels.

The Safari also has Terrain Response Modes (Normal, Rough, and Wet), as well as Multi Drive Modes (Eco, City, and Sports).

Tata Safari facelift: Interior and Features

The 2023 Safari will include a new 12.30-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, both of which are comparable to those seen in the 2023 Nexon and Nexon EV. The dashboard will have ambient lighting, providing a more youthful atmosphere within the new Safari's interior.

The new Safari will also include the redesigned two-spoke steering wheel with a backlit panel displaying Tata Motors' emblem and mounted controls, which debuted in the Nexon and Nexon EV facelift SUVs. The Harrier facelift SUV will also include motorized tailgates, a 10 JBL speaker sound system with Harmon AudioworX, paddle shifters, a 360-degree camera, and other innovations.

Tata Motors will provide as many as seven airbags in the Safari (6 as standard). The seventh airbag, designed to protect the driver's knees, will be available in high-end models. Tata will also include level-2 ADAS technology in the Harrier and the new Safari, as well as at least 11 safety measures.

The 2023 Tata Safari facelift is expected to compete directly with rivals such as the MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar, and Mahindra XUV700 in the market.
