Auto sales Nov 2023: Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Hyundai, and more

Domestic passenger vehicle sales data for November 2023 witnessed a marginal rise in sales for major automakers except Tata Motors. A few automakers also reported a decline in exports in previous month.

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki has released its monthly sales data, where it recorded a total domestic passenger vehicle sales of 1,34,158 units in November 2023 compared to the sales of 1,32,395 units in the same period of last year. Out of which, it delivered 9,959 units of the Alto and S-Presso, whereas the sales of Baleno, Celerio, Swift, Dzire, Ignis, Tour S, and Wagon R stood at 64,679 units. Maruti sold 278 units of the Ciaz in the previous month, while the Brezza, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, Fronx, XL6, Invicto, S-Cross, and Jimny contributed 49,016 units to the overall sales. Meanwhile, the brand exported 22,950 units in November 2023 as against 19,738 units shipped in the same period of the previous year.

Tata Motors

Tata Motors registered an overall domestic sales of 46,068 units, including EVs in the previous month as against 46,037 units sold in November 2022. However, exports plummeted by 81 per cent to 75 units last month from 388 units in the year-ago period. Meanwhile, its EV wholesale increased by 7 per cent to 4,761 units in November 2023 from 4,451 units sold in the month of 2022.

Hyundai

Hyundai Motor India reported a 3 per cent growth in its sales at 65,801 units in November 2023 compared to 64,003 units sold in year-ago period. The domestic sales went up by a mere 3 per cent at 49,451 units as against the sales of 48,002 units in the same month of the last year. Further, its exports rose to 16,350 units with a XX per cent compared to 16,001 units shipped in November 2022.

Mahindra

The total sales of Mahindra in August 2023 stood at 40,764 units, out of which its domestic wholesale increased by 32 per cent year-on-year to 39,981 units compared to 30,238 units sold in the year-ago period. The carmaker saw a 42 per cent decline in its export from 3,122 units of November 2022 to 1,816 units of the previous month.

MG

The British carmaker registered the sales at 4,154 units in November 2023, reporting a 1.8 per cent growth as against deliveries of 4,079 units over the corresponding month of the previous year. The carmaker said that the EVs accounted for 30 per cent of its overall sales.

Thar RWD - Nasik

Toyota

Toyota Kirloskar Motor recorded a total sales of 17,818 units, reporting a 51 per cent growth from 11,765 units sold in the same period of 2022. The overall sales figure of the carmaker comprised 16,924 units of the domestic market, while 894 units of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder were exported. Toyota has sold 2,10,497 units in this calendar, reporting 40 per cent growth as against 1,49,995 units sold in the same period of last year.
