Auto sales Oct 2023: Tata, Hyundai, Mahindra, Kia, and more

With the festive season in full swing, Indian automakers have launched new and special edition vehicles, and they have also reported their monthly sales figures for October 2023. Let uss take a closer look at how key automakers in the country performed.

Kia India achieved the fourth-highest monthly domestic sales of 24,351 units in October, marking a 4.41 per cent year-on-year growth compared to 23,323 units sold in the same month last year. The strong performance was attributed to the new Seltos and other models.

Tata Motors

Tata Motors reported an impressive seven per cent year-on-year growth in domestic sales, with 48,337 units sold in October 2023, compared to 45,217 units in October 2022. The company's international business also witnessed a 46 per cent growth, and electric vehicle sales were up by 28 per cent.

Hyundai Motor India

Hyundai Motor India reported total sales of 68,728 units in October, reflecting an 18.48 per cent growth compared to September 2022. Domestic sales increased, and exports also saw significant growth.

Mahindra & Mahindra

Mahindra & Mahindra had a stellar month, registering its highest-ever SUV sales at 43,708 units, marking a 36 per cent growth in October compared to the same period in 2022.

Honda Cars India

Honda Cars India experienced a slight decline in domestic sales, with 9,400 units sold in October 2023, down from 9,543 units in the same month the previous year. Exports, on the other hand, increased.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor

Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported robust overall sales of 21,879 units in October, marking a substantial 66 per cent growth compared to the same month last year. The company also exported 1,337 units during the period.

MG Motor India

MG Motor India's sales reached 5,108 units in October, showing growth of 17 per cent compared to 5,003 units sold the same month in 2022 and the previous month. The brand noted that electric vehicles (EVs) accounted for 25 per cent of its overall sales.

As the festive season continues, the Indian automotive market appears to be witnessing a growth in sales, with some automakers achieving record figures for the month of October. It is expected to rise further in the next month as Diwali is just around the corner.
