The long-awaited Alfa Romeo supercar has finally been presented to the public, and it looks incredible. The renowned Italian manufacturer is releasing a new flagship sports vehicle, and this time it's real. This is a rebirth of the achingly gorgeous 33 Stradale, rather than an 8C replacement. The new 33 Stradale, like its precursor sold in the late 1960s when just 18 were manufactured, has a mid-engined layout. Second, Alfa is only building 33 of these supercars, all of which have already been spoken for.

Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale: Powertrains

The 33 Stradale's powertrain plan is possibly the most intriguing aspect, with purchasers able to pick between a twin-turbo V6 and a totally electric version. The 620-horsepower Alfa 33 Stradale is handled using an eight-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission and sends power entirely to the rear wheels via an electronic limited-slip differential.

It has a top speed of 333 kmph and a 0-100 kmph time of less than three seconds. The engine is claimed to be a version of the Ferrari-developed V6 that powers the Alfa Quadrifoglio vehicles.

The battery-electric 33 Stradale has more than 750 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in less than 2.5 seconds, but Alfa isn't disclosing much else about the engine. Because numerous electric motors are required, we assume it will have all-wheel drive. On the optimistic WLTP test cycle, the range is presently estimated at 450 kilometres.

Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale: Design

The foundation of the vehicle is a combined aluminium H-frame and carbon fibre monocoque that has many similarities with the Maserati MC20, as is the roof, which supports the butterfly doors. The Alfa Romeo shield is reproduced by the LED components around the elliptical headlamps on the 33 Stradale's muscular front.

A slim silhouette accentuates the car's huge air inlets, which are located rearward of the butterfly doors. The automobile has a shortened tail and circular taillight clusters at the back.

A front-axle lift system is included, as is a drive mode selector that allows you to choose between Strada (road) and Pista (track). A "Quadrifoglio" button is used to initiate launch control. Brembo carbon ceramic brakes with six-piston callipers in front and four-piston units in the rear provide the stopping power.

Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale: Interior

The cabin is simple in design, with a limited amount of controls housed on the centre console and a steering wheel free of buttons, allowing the driver to focus on the driving experience. The wraparound seats of the 33 Stradale are claimed to be a reimagining of those seen in the Tipo 33.

The dashboard and centre console are likewise inspired by aircraft and are made of aluminium, carbon fibre, leather, and Alcantara. Ahead of the driver is an instrument cluster referred to by Alfa Romeo as a 3D telescopic display.

The 33 Stradale is expected to be manufactured in the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera's factory early next year, with production starting in June 2024. This limited-run supercar preserves the essence of what the original Alfa Romeo sports vehicle was all about.
