Pininfarina B95 Roadster debuts with just 10 units to be produced

Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled the new B95 hypercar, a fully electric open-top roadster. Set to be made in an ultra-limited run of just 10 units, it makes the Battista, of which 150 units are planned, look like a high-volume car in comparison. The Pininfarina B95 is also the company's first coach-built vehicle.

The "B" in the B95's name stands for Barchetta (roadster), while the "95" refers to Pininfarina SpA's forthcoming 95th anniversary (in 2025), which generated Automobili Pininfarina after being bought by Mahindra. Production and deliveries for the hypercar will also commence in 2025.

Pininfarina B95 Roadster: Powertrain

The new B95 is based on the same architecture as the Battista electric hypercar and features a quad-motor engine with a separate motor for each wheel, allowing for all-wheel drive. With 'complete torque-vectoring technology' and five drive modes, the driving experience may be customized.

The B95's maximum power of 1900PS should carry it to 100kmph in less than 2 seconds. The 120 kWh battery pack will charge at up to 270 kW in 25 minutes for a 20-80 percent charge.

Pininfarina B95 Roadster: Design

Since it is a Barchetta, it does not have a roof to protect it from the weather. There is no windscreen, but Pininfarina has provided the B95 with electronically adjustable aero screens inspired by antique fighter planes, which are touted to be a world first.

The exterior is inspired by the newly announced PURA Vision concept, featuring a sleek front end with thin LED headlamps, an aggressive front bumper, and an air dam in the front hood. The yellow Gallo Arneis front end contrasts with the Bronzo Superga metallic body, and the yellow extends to the two buttresses up top with the 'B95' writing.

Matte black, forged aluminium alloy wheels (20-inch front and 21-inch rear) are finished in black brushed aluminium, and the brake callipers are coated in the same contrasting Giallo Arneis tint.

The B95 features identical, narrow LED tail-lights but a distinct bumper and diffuser design, making it most recognized as a Battista from the back. Because there is no glasshouse, Pininfarina's designers created a "surrounding loop" that integrates the cabin, aero screens, and domes behind each passenger's head.

Pininfarina B95 Roadster: Interior

The carbon fibre dash is upholstered in sustainable tan leather, which contrasts with anodized black and carbon fibre everywhere to create a 'floating wing' look. The headrests are finished in a Pied de Poule Houndstooth pattern, and the door plates are laser-engraved in aluminium.

The two changeable aero displays on the dash are inspired by historical fighter jets and are constructed of polycarbonate. The inside of the B95, like the appearance, may be customized to the buyer's preferences. Aside from the upholstery and stitching, purchasers may also personalize the B95's laser-engraved aluminium skid plate.
