2024 Range Rover Velar: Design

The latest update has made the Range Rover Velar sleeker than its predecessor. JLR has given it a new grille, redesigned daytime driving lights, new Pixel LED headlamps, and new front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, and revised taillamps. Also on offer are two new colours: Metallic Varesine Blue and Premium Metallic Zadar Grey, alongside Fuji White and Santorini Black.

2024 Range Rover Velar: Powertrain and Suspension

Engine choices include two 2-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. In India, there is no six-cylinder or hybrid Velar. The petrol engine produces 250PS and 365Nm, while the diesel engine produces 204PS and 420Nm. An 8-speed automatic gearbox sends power to all four wheels for both engines. The petrol engine has a claimed peak speed of 217 kmph and a stated 0-100 kmph time of 7.5 seconds, while the diesel engine has a claimed top speed of 210 kmph and a reported 0-100 kmph time of 8.3 seconds.

The Velar facelift has a 580mm water-wading depth. The Range Rover Velar has air suspension on all four sides for a comfortable ride. These include Land Rover's Terrain Response system, which has several modes and changes various characteristics based on which one you select.

2024 Range Rover Velar: Interior

On the inside, the refreshed Range Rover Velar gets a fresh and minimalist interior. It now features JLR's 11.4-inch Pivi Pro central information hub with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cabin wears Windsor leather trim available in either Caraway/Ebony or Deep Garnet/Ebony theme.

The firm has equipped the India-spec model with a wireless charging pad, an 11-speaker, 400-watt, Meridian sound system, active road noise cancellation, an air purifier plus, four-zone temperature control, software over-the-air updates, a fixed panoramic sunroof, 20-way powered front seats with massage and heating/ventilation functions, driver-seat memory settings, rear seats powered recline, onboard Amazon Alexa assistant, multicolour ambient lighting, metal pedals, 360-degree camera, powered boot opening, Terrain Response 2 system, and electronic air suspension, among others.

The Range Rover Velar takes on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5, Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7. JLR India has announced that it has registered the highest-ever first quarter sales with a year-on-year growth of 102 per cent in Q1 of financial year 2024. Read more about it here.
