New Maruti Suzuki Dzire spotted testing for the first time

The new-generation Maruti Dzire has been sighted testing in India for the first time, ahead of its expected introduction in June. The fourth-generation Dzire will follow the new Swift, which will go on sale in India shortly. This will be the first substantial update to the Dzire since 2016 and it will renew its rivalry with the likes of Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor and Honda Amaze.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Design and Interiors

As shown in the spy pictures, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire will retain its dimensions while receiving a significant redesign and feature upgrade. Though the test mule hardly reveals anything, the new Dzire is expected to receive a new set of LED headlamp and taillight units, a modified bumper and grille, and reworked alloy wheels, among other improvements. The profile of the Dzire test mule looks to have undergone no substantial design alterations.

Although the front resembles the Swift, the Dzire's side profile features substantial revisions, including new pillars and door designs, finished with a stylish chrome line around the windows.

The inside of the new Dzire is also likely to undergo revisions, with features such as a dual-tone theme, updated infotainment and digital driver display borrowed from the new Swift, as well as extra amenities such as a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and seat ventilation. Maruti might also outfit it with the new 9-inch infotainment display.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Powertrain

The new Dzire will be powered by the new 1.2-litre Z series petrol engine, which will make its debut in the new Swift. Expect this engine to be available with both a manual and an AMT automatic transmission. The current model is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, NA petrol engine that produces 91PS and 113Nm.
