First sightings of upcoming Hyundai Alcazar facelift

Hyundai is staying competitive in the fast-evolving automotive landscape by introducing feature upgrades to its vehicles, such as the ADAS-equipped 2023 Venue and the refreshed 2023 i20 in India. Not only that, the latest development from the brand is the Alcazar facelift, as a test mule was recently spotted testing. Earlier this year, the South Korean automaker updated the three-row SUV with a redesigned grille and a new turbocharged petrol engine. However, the upcoming mid-life facelift is expected to bring more substantial design changes in line with Hyundai's other up-to-the-minute models.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Exterior

The recently spotted Hyundai Alcazar facelift is shrouded in heavy camouflage, particularly at the front, side profiles, and rear, suggesting that the most significant exterior changes are concentrated in these areas. Expect the upcoming Alcazar facelift to get a fresh radiator grille, redesigned headlamps and taillights, and updated front and rear bumpers. Hyundai might also incorporate trendy design elements, including a full-length light bar at the front and rear, aligning it with models, such as the all-new Verna, 2024 Elantra, and 2024 Santa Fe. The daytime running lights on the Alcazar facelift may take inspiration from the new Santa Fe and Elantra.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Interior

Inside, a substantial interior overhaul is anticipated, featuring a redesigned dashboard, revamped centre console, and new leather upholstery. While the current model already boasts a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the facelifted version is expected to retain these units but with an upgraded user interface and added features.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Features

The current Alcazar already comes equipped with six airbags, ESP, VSM, HAC, and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard across all variants. With the Alcazar facelift, Hyundai may make additional safety features standard. Further, the seven-seater SUV is likely to feature Level 2 autonomy, a 360-degree camera, updated Bluelink connected car tech, USB Type-C ports with faster charging, and more.

Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, TPMS, ventilated front seats, wireless chargers in the first and rear rows, an air purifier, Bose sound system, powered driver seat, four-wheel disc brakes, front and rear parking sensors, traction control, OTA updates, electric parking brake with auto hold, cooled glove box, idle engine start/stop, puddle lamps, and a 64-colour ambient lighting system, among others.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Engine, transmission, and power outputs

The upcoming Alcazar facelift is likely to retain the same petrol and diesel powertrain options as the current model. The current Alcazar offers a new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged GDi petrol engine producing 160PS and 253Nm of torque, as well as a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine with 116PS and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Prices and launch

Given that this is the first sighting of the Hyundai Alcazar facelift, we expect its introduction in early 2024. The current Alcazar's prices start from Rs 16.77 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 21.23 lakh (ex-showroom). The refreshed model is expected to come with revised pricing.
