BMW 7 Series Protection: Security features

The BMW Protection Core is expertly created from hot-formed steel alloys, resulting in a self-supporting protective shell that includes armour-plated doors, underbody protection, and safety glass. The BMW 7 Series Protection weighs about 4 tons, making it an extremely hefty car. Each reinforced door of the vehicle weighs 200kg alone.

As a result, the 7 Series Protection vehicle will be equipped with a 10mm ballistic steel protective shell. The glass windows are classified as VPAM 10, the maximum degree of security for civilian-protected vehicles. In addition, the armoured construction may be updated to provide VPAM 10 protection as an option. The model's comprehensive security concept guarantees that every component, from the self-sealing fuel tank to the specialized roof and underbody armour, is precisely developed to defend occupants from bombs and weapons attacks.

The PAX tyres contain a run flat ring mounted on the wheel rim, allowing the vehicle to travel at speeds of up to 80 kmph even if all pressure is lost. Optionally, the cars may be outfitted with all-door emergency exits in case everyone has to leave fast.

BMW 7 Series Protection: Powertrain and Interior

Being nowhere near lightweight, the 7-series Protection requires a powertrain that can also help this car zip through instantly. The 4.4-litre eight-cylinder engine employs 48V mild hybrid technology, producing 530PS and a maximum torque of 750Nm. The automobile travels from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.6 seconds and has a peak speed of 210 kmph.

The interior of the 7-series Protection nevertheless has plenty of comforts within. You still get twin curved displays, a premium Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround sound system, ambient lighting, heated and ventilated seats, and even heated windscreens to ensure maximum visibility at all times.

BMW India offers a training program that qualifies drivers so that they know exactly how to manage this car in an emergency. At the training centre, chauffeurs are taught a variety of evasive high-speed manoeuvring procedures and tactics designed to assure occupant safety.
