2025 Nissan Kicks debuts ahead of official launch at New York Auto Show

Nissan has taken the wraps off the all-new Kicks SUV, which will make its public premiere at the 2024 New York International Auto Show. The Japanese manufacturer has been testing prototypes of the new Nissan Kicks for a few months now and the car is finally ready in a production-ready form. This current model is larger than previous models and shares certain characteristics with the Mitsubishi X-Force SUV offered in select countries, such as Indonesia.

2025 Nissan Kicks: Design and Dimensions

The Kicks has expanded quite a bit, measuring 4,366 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,630 mm tall. The new car is 58 mm longer, 40 mm wider, and 22 mm higher, with a 2,657 mm wheelbase that is 38 mm longer.

Nissan's iconic V-Motion grille is gone, which is noticeable right away. It now has a massive and broad horizontally slated front grille, which retains elements of the previous design concept. The headlights have narrowed and angled downward on the inner edges.

The tiny crossover also has prominent wheel arches with matte black cladding, 19-inch alloy wheels, and striking LED taillights with black trim across the whole tailgate.

2025 Nissan Kicks: Powertrain

The 2025 Nissan Kicks is powered by a 2.0-litre inline-four gasoline engine producing 141PS at 6,000 rpm and 190Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This is combined with the new Xtronic automatic gearbox. For individuals who want more traction, an optional Intelligent AWD system with a Snow Driving Mode is available.

2025 Nissan Kicks: Interior and Features

The redesigned cabin looks completely different owing to a pair of display panels for the driver centre infotainment system. A dual-screen layout consists of a 12.3-inch infotainment system and an instrument cluster, both mounted atop a two-layered dashboard. The infotainment system has wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other highlights include a redesigned flat-bottom steering wheel, touch-sensitive temperature controls, red stitching accents, Nissan's Zero Gravity seats for comfort, an electronically openable panoramic sunroof, Bose speakers positioned on the headrests, and extra luggage space.

The Kicks is equipped with an ADAS suite that includes intelligent cruise control as standard, with premium models receiving the ProPILOT Assist system as an upgrade, which is Nissan jargon for lane keep assist.

Nissan India

Nissan had launched the Kicks in India a while back and the car suffered a lot in terms of sales after which Nissan India took it off the market. Currently, Nissan India is placing all their bets on the Magnite SUV which is available in 2 powertrains. We don't think the new Kicks will come to our shores anytime as the brand is currently focused on launching a slightly bigger SUV sometime soon.
