2023 Lexus UX introduced with only a hybrid powertrain

For the 2023 model year, Lexus is updating its smallest crossover, the Lexus UX, and the major news is that the sub-compact SUV will become a hybrid entirely.

The Lexus UX gets new UXh branding, as well as new features such as an updated and improved infotainment system. An updated steering and suspension system are also included. According to the manufacturer, the crossover is available with two separate improvement packages: F Sport Design and F Sport Handling.

F Sport Design is primarily concerned with look and equipment. Self-levelling headlights, fog lights, cornering lights, rain-sensing wipers, a black roof panel, dark roof rails, painted wheel arch flares, a unique front grille, F Sport alloys and a moon roof are among the features. It has a number of unique characteristics not only on the outside but also within the cabin. Front sport seats, steering wheel, gear lever, instrument cluster, and pedals are all F Sport-specific.

The F Sport Handling package includes elements aimed at improving performance. It comes with performance dampers, an active variable suspension system, and a steering gear brace. These modifications, according to Lexus, improve the crossover's performance and handling.

The Lexus UXh will now be driven only by a 2-litre inline-four and an electric motor driving the rear wheels, totalling 181PS.

The 2023 Lexus UXh has a number of interior upgrades.   It comes with an anti-glare eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system. A 12.3-inch unit is available as an option. A wireless device charger and two USB charging ports have been added to the revamped centre console. There's also a new voice-activated assistant and other tech like a digital app-based key.

The Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 package of driving aids is standard on all trim levels and comes with a pre-collision system, emergency steering aid, lane-tracing assist and adaptive cruise control are among the features.
