VIT extends its MTech in Engine Technology course for working engineers

VIT University, Vellore, has extended its MoU with the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and Cummins India to offer a post-graduate programme (MTech in Engine Technology) for the engineers of Cummins. This was done at an event organised to celebrate the successful completion of the degree for the first batch.

The programme has been designed so that working engineers can pursue their MTech and PhD degrees without having to quit their jobs.

During the MoU signing ceremony held in Pune, S Narayanan, pro-vice chancellor of VIT University, noted that the increasing vehicle density called for better solutions for safety and emission control and urged the passing-out engineers to work towards the same.

Shrikant Marathe, Director of ARAI, and Paul Sowerby, CTO of Cummins, expressed their satisfaction on the quality of the programme and said that the engineers were now equipped with the latest knowledge to design and develop modern-day high performance engines.

A Senthil Kumar, Dean of School of Mechanical and Building Sciences (SMBS) of VIT University, and senior executives of ARAI and Cummins were dignitaries who graced the occasion.
