Unveiled 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV

Chevrolet's compact hatchback now gets an electric heart. The 2014 Chevy Spark (Beat in India) has been unveiled ahead of its LA Auto Show debut. GM says that this will be the first car in its category to have SAE Combo DC Fast Charging capability which enables the Spark EV to achieve an 80 per cent charge in less than 20 minutes. It also claims to have the longest range in its class courtesy a 20kWh Li-ion battery. The Spark EV is powered by an advanced electric motor and battery system with the coaxial drive unit and electric system delivering 130PS of power and 542Nm of torque. A 0-100kmph sprint is said to be achieved in less than eight seconds.

The Spark EV goes on sale next year with an expected US pricing of 13.90 lakh.
