In the two-wheeler segment, domestic volumes reached 1,86,164 units, compared to 1,46,138 units in February 2025. Exports of two-wheelers grew by 26 percent to 1,93,757 units, up from 1,53,280 units in the year-ago period.

In an interview with CNBC, Rajiv Bajaj - MD at Bajaj said, "Exports have been our most standout vertical over the last quarter and after a long time we crossed the 200,000 vehicle mark per month. Our oldest market, Sri Lanka has emerged from complete collapse two years ago to over 10,000 units a month. Nepal is doing about 5,000 units a month and our biggest market Nigeria, is now recording 30,000 units a month consistently." He also added, "We are doing really good in Kenya, Uganda and Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), but the star has been Latin America. Not only the older markets like Colombia and Central America, but new markets like Mexico, Brazil are doing great. In the month of January, the company recorded a sale of over 50,000 motorcycles which included Pulsars and Dominars and over 5,000 three-wheelers."

When asked about the EU-FTA, He said that his conversation with multiple suppliers from Europe supplying to KTM confirmed that in the pursuit of China+1, India ranks as a top contender while being evaluated with Thailand and Vietnam. He added that as long as there is scale, India is unbeatable and we are more competitive than all the other alternatives.

In terms of driving the electric sales forward and driving the production increase, Rajiv mentioned that from April, the company is targeting 40,000 units per month. The current position of the company is one among the top two with TVS leading the market. The brand has now stabilised at 30,000 units per month. But considering the supply chain issues have been dealt with and other operating issues have also been mitigated, the company is confident in achieving the said target of 40,000 units a month, starting April.

The domestic KTM sales is growing at a pace of 50-70 per cent a month, the brand is now striking 10,000 units a month across the country which is quite a feat. Triumph has moved up from 3,000 units to 4,000 units a month. And the 125-cc segment share stands at somewhere between 22-24 per cent. And Rajiv confirmed that there will be atleast one new brand that could be introduced between now and the festive season in the 125-250cc space.

The commercial vehicle (CV) business also delivered solid gains. Total CV sales rose 30 percent to 68,338 units, compared to 52,653 units in February last year. Within this, domestic CV sales increased to 46,417 units from 37,277 units. Exports saw even stronger growth, jumping 43 percent to 21,921 units, up from 15,376 units in February 2025. Overall, the February numbers reflect broad-based growth across both domestic and export markets for the company.
