Unveiled 2013 Volkswagen Golf
Volkswagen has unveiled the next-gen Golf in Germany ahead of its Paris Motor Show debut. The company claims that the new-gen Golf is 110kg lighter than the outgoing model, a feat achieved by use of high-strength tensile steel and the new MQB architecture. VW says that the new Golf is also longer by 56mm and is 28mm lower. Rear legroom has also improved by 15mm and the boot space has increased by 30 litres taking it to 380 litres overall.
The Golf will come with a choice of new petrol and diesel engines with battery regeneration and stop/start system. Two TSI engines with power figures ranging from 85PS to 140PS and two diesel engines with 105PS and 150PS are available.
Further details about the new Golf will emerge at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
