Tata Nexon and Nexon EV facelifts launch tomorrow

Tata is all geared-up to launch the 2023 Nexon facelift and 2023 Nexon EV facelift in India tomorrow, on 14 September, 2023. The ICE and EV models have received a significant update as a part of their mid-life facelift, bringing in several additional features, improved range for the EV, a new transmission for the petrol unit, and a fresh inside and out.

2023 Tata Nexon facelift and Nexon EV facelift Variants and Colours

The refreshed Nexon EV is available in three variants: Creative, Fearless, and Empowered across seven paint options: Empowered Oxide, Daytona Grey, Pristine White, Intensi-teal, Creative Ocean, Flame Red, and Fearless Purple. Whereas, the Nexon faeclift is offered in four variants, namely Smart, Pure, Creative, and Fearless. Colour options for the SUV include Fearless Purple, Daytona Grey, Pristine White, Flame Red, Creative Ocean, and Pure Grey.

2023 Tata Nexon facelift and Nexon EV facelift Powertrain

First up, the updated electric SUV comes in two battery pack options: Mid range (MR) and Long range (LR) with an increased range of 325km and 465km, respectively, albeit, the battery capacity remains the same: 30.2kWh and 40.5kWh. The MR with a new-gen electric motor makes 129PS and 215Nm of torque, while the LR with the new motor produces 145PS and 215Nm of torque. Both versions support 7.2kW AC and 50kW DC charging. The EV now offers vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-load facility that can charge other electronic appliances and even other electric vehicles.

Powering the Nexon facelift is a 1.2-litre, inline three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine producing 120PS and 170Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that delivers 115PS and 260Nm of torque. The former comes mated to a choice of four transmission options: a five-speed manual, six-speed manual, six-speed AMT, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, while the latter is coupled to a six-speed manual and a six-speed AMT.

Tata has equipped the Nexon with various new features, such as 360deg camera, front parking sensors, new telematics, a new nine-speaker sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, height adjustable co-passenger seat, and six airbags, ESP, and hill hold control standard across all variants. On the other hand, the Nexon EV boasts a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated Alexa, Siri, and Google voice assistants, OTT apps compatibility, updated ZConnect connected car tech, and more.

2023 Tata Nexon facelift and Nexon EV facelift Prices

We expect the 2023 Nexon EV facelift prices to start from Rs 14.60-14.80 lakh and go up to Rs 19.99 lakh compared to previous prices, which ranged between Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 19.54 lakh (ex-showroom). Whereas, the new prices of the Tata Nexon facelift are likely to range between Rs 8-8.50 lakh and Rs 15-16 lakh. In comparison, its predecessor was available at Rs 7.80-14.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
