Tata Motors to deliver 3,500 Xpres T EVs to BluSmart Mobility
Tata Motors has struck a deal with EV ride-hailing start-up BluSmart mobility to supply 3,500 units of the Xpres T EV for the Delhi-NCR region. The Xpres T EV is the facelift for the erstwhile Tigor EV for fleet operators introduced after the Tata Tigor EV for individual buyers was introduced in August 2021.

This development comes after BluSmart mobility received Series A funding of USD 25 million in September 2021. The start-up has been gaining significant traction in the Delhi-NCR region having completed more than 7 lakh rides so far, covering over 22 million EV-only km. On the other hand, Tata Motors is the biggest EV maker in India by some margin. The company has sold over 10,000 EVs to private owners and holds a 70 per cent market share as of FY22.
Xpres T EV range, charging, prices
The Xpres T EV is offered with two battery pack options, 16.5kWh with 165 km claimed range and 21.5kWh with 213 km claimed range. The battery pack is mated to a 70V, 3-phase induction motor that produces 40hp and 105 Nm of torque. Know more about Tata Motors' Xpres brand here.
The 2021 Tata Xpres-T can be charged via an AC wall box charger that takes eight and 11.5 hours for 16.5kWh and 21.5kWh respectively. It also supports 15kW DC charging that takes 90 minutes and 110 minutes respectively to charge from 0-80 per cent. In terms of looks, the Xpres-T gets new badging, some blue inserts, gloss-black flat grille and 14-inch alloy wheels. Talking about the features, the Xpres-T gets dual airbags, ABS, EBD, LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED taillights, auto climate control, digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable ORVMs to name a few. Prices start at Rs 9.54 lakh for the Xpres T 165 XM and the Xpres T 213 XZ+ costs from Rs 10.64 lakh, after Fame subsidy.
