Rolls-Royce has finally debuted the second Boat Tail model. The new custom Rolls Royce Boat Tail is inspired by mother-of-pearl and will make its public premiere on May 21, 2022, at the Concorso d'Eleganza, Villa d'Este, under the company's unique commission project, the Rolls-Royce Coachbuild.

The Boat Tail is the pinnacle of the marque's coachbuilding talents. Each commission tells a tale about its owner that is wholly unique and particular to them, reflecting their own background, preferences, and sensitivities.

The new Rolls Royce Boat Tail is commissioned by a patron whose family company grew out of his father's pearling background. With a distinctive exterior finish and interior decoration inspired by mother-of-pearl, the design pays respect to the client's father and family legacy with carefully researched materials and exact details.

A collection of four pearl shells provided to Rolls Royce by the client influenced the car's design and style. The outside colour was inspired by the shells, and the business claims it is one of the most intricate Bespoke finishes it has ever made. It's a gleaming mix of oyster and soft rose with huge white and bronze mica particles for a pearl look.

The bonnet is finished in a contrasting cognac colour with fine bronze and gold coloured aluminium mica particles, a layer of crystal, and an iced matt clear lacquer.

The car's unique folding deck is made of Royal Walnut wood and is inlaid with rose gold-plated pinstripes that have a satin-brushed finish. The automobile also features the Pantheon Grille, which features the Spirit of Ecstasy in rose gold. A pair of black alloy wheels with matching accents and white-wall tyres complete the design.

Matching cognac and oyster-coloured leathers and Royal Walnut wood are used throughout the cabin, with rose gold and mother-of-pearl embellishments. To match the back deck, the transmission tunnel is made of Royal Walnut veneer with rose gold pinstripes.

The automobile has a mother-of-pearl watch in the centre of the dashboard, which the customer picked and contributed from his collection, and similar material has been utilized on the control switches and instrument displays.
