Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has outlined the long-term positioning of its first fully electric model, the Rolls-Royce Spectre, describing it as a motor car engineered to be preserved, collected and passed on to future generations. The company states that the Spectre was the second most demanded Rolls-Royce globally in 2025, reinforcing its growing acceptance among long-term collectors.

Introduced as the brand's first electric coupé, Spectre recorded stronger initial demand than previous two-door models such as the Wraith and Dawn during their debut years. Rolls-Royce notes that many buyers with existing Goodwood-era collections now consider the Spectre an essential addition, particularly as the brand transitions towards electrification.

A significant factor behind this perception is the level of bespoke personalisation. In 2025, Spectre accounted for a notable share of Rolls-Royce's most valuable bespoke commissions. Highly customised examples such as Spectre Lunaflair and Spectre Soulmate demonstrate how clients are commissioning the car as a long-term asset rather than a short-term acquisition.

From an engineering perspective, Rolls-Royce has highlighted extensive testing results to support the vehicle's longevity. A prototype Spectre retained 99% battery capacity after more than 100,000 kilometres of real-world use across varied climates. The model is also covered by a 15-year, unlimited-mileage battery warranty, with confirmed battery cell supply secured well beyond the middle of this century

Design elements such as the fastback silhouette, split headlamps inspired by the Phantom Coupé, and features including Starlight Doors and the Illuminated Fascia reflect a blend of traditional Rolls-Royce design cues with modern execution.

As earlier Goodwood-era models begin to gain classic status, Rolls-Royce positions the Spectre as a kPreview (opens in a new tab)ey part of this evolving collector landscape, marking a shift towards bespoke electric luxury cars with long-term relevance.
