Renault Kiger Turbo's 20.5 kmpl mileage claimed to be segment leader
Renault has revealed that the Kiger, a sub-4-metre small SUV, gets an ARAI-certified economy of 20.5 kmpl. The number refers to the Renault Kiger, which is equipped with a 3-cylinder 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. According to the manufacturer, the 20.5 kmpl mileage is the best in the category.
The Renault Kiger offers two engine options: a 3-cylinder Energy 1.0-litre NA petrol with 72PS and 96 Nm peak torque and a 3-cylinder 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol producing 100PS and 160 Nm of peak torque. The NA petrol engine is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission, while the turbocharged petrol engine is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed CVT automatic transmission.
As previously stated, the Renault Kiger with a turbocharged petrol engine and a 5-speed manual transmission has an ARAI-certified mileage of 20.5kmpl. Renault says that this engine incorporates the latest technological advancements seen in the Renault Clio and Renault Captur, both of which are already on the market in Europe.
The Kiger unique three-LED front appearance, along with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and radiant red dual tone colour, looks stunning. The car also comes with PM2.5 advanced atmospheric filter to ensure optimal air quality within the cabin. The wireless smartphone replication capability is available, allowing passengers to connect their cellphones to the 8-inch display link floating touchscreen, enhancing the entire smart cabin experience.
The Kiger takes part in a very competitive segment with the Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and Toyota Urban Cruiser in this compact SUV category.
