MG Hector Plus converted into Covid-19 mobile testing unit; donated to support testing and other healthcare services in Gujarat

MG Motor India has successfully converted its Hector Plus into a Covid-19 mobile testing unit. The vehicle will be used as Dhanvantari Rath for Covid-19 vaccination, testing, and other mobile healthcare services in Gujarat. The Covid-19 mobile testing unit will be used by healthcare professionals for RTPCR test sample collection in a safe manner at affected locations. The Hector Plus mobile testing unit will also be used by healthcare professionals to execute the vaccination drive in remote areas.

The first unit was handed over to Executive Magistrate & Mamlatdar Halol in presence of Shri Jaydrathsinhji Parmar, Hon. Minister of State for Panchayat, Environment and Agriculture, Government of Gujarat and MLA Halol, Shri Amit Arora IAS Dist. Magistrate and Collector Panchmahal, Shri A K Gautam SDM & Dy. Collector Halol, Shri S N Katara Mamlatdar Halol, Smt. Vibhaxiben Desai Nagar Palika President and other Corporators of Nagar Palika Halol.

"Mobile health services are the need of the hour as the nation recovers from the pandemic and inline remains our focus at MG towards serving the communities in the best manner possible through the MG Sewa initiative. As part of the current initiative, the first Hector Plus mobile testing unit donated will be used for supporting healthcare services in the region," said Rajeev Chaba, President & MD, MG Motor India."

As part of MG Sewa, the carmaker has recently also launched various initiatives including MG Healthline for its customers for providing medical assistance. In April 2021, it had also joined hands with Devnandan Gases Pvt. Ltd. in Gujarat and ramped up the oxygen production by 36% at one of the latter's plants in Vadodara within a month. It further envisions increasing this figure to 50% soon.

In the past, the carmaker has also provided Hector Ambulances that are custom-built by MG engineers at its Halol plant. Several of these ambulances are already doing duty in Gujarat and Maharashtra to serve the affected in case of an emergency. MG has also recently offered 200 beds for Covid-19 patients in Gurugram with an online healthcare platform Credihealth while also raising funds for and distributing biodegradable bedsheets to the affected in Pune.
