New Volkswagen Virtus GT DSG variant launched at Rs 16.19 lakh
Volkswagen has launched the new entry-level Virtus GT DSG variant in India at Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant sits between the Virtus Topline 1.0 AT and Virtus GT Plus 1.5 MT. The sedan is now available with a choice of five variants: Comfortline, Highline, Topline, GT, and GT Plus. Notably, the 1.5-litre has become more affordable, to be specific, it is cheaper by around Rs 70,000 compared to Virtus GT Plus MT. Interestingly, the new trim is a staggeringly more affordable than the range-topping GT Plus variant by Rs 2.37 lakh.
New Volkswagen Virtus GT DSG variant: Powertrain
Powering the Virtus GT DSG variant is the 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbocharged TSI Evo petrol engine that generates 150PS between 5,000rpm to 6,000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1,600rpm to 3,600rpm. It comes with cylinder deactivation technology. Further, this powertrain has an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 19.62kmpl.
New Volkswagen Virtus GT DSG variant: Colours
Volkswagen offers seven colour choices with the new GT DSG variant, including Candy White, Carbon Steel Grey, Wild Cherry Red, Rising Blue, Curucma Yellow, Reflex Silver, and Lava Blue. Being a GT model, the Virtus GT DSG will feature distinctive design elements, such as a GT emblem on the grille, tailgate, and fenders; red-painted brake callipers, rear spoiler in gloss black, GT-specific upholstery, red ambient lighting, and 16-inch alloy wheels, among others.
New Volkswagen Virtus GT DSG variant: Features
The Virtus GT DSG comes with numerous features, such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker sound system, cruise control, rear air con vents, cooled glovebox, powered ORVMs, TPMS, dual airbags, a rear-view camera, rear defogger, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, and more. However, it does not get a fully digital cluster, auto-dimming IRVM, an electric sunroof, leatherette upholstery, and auto wipers and headlights.
