New Ather 450 Apex electric scooter teased
Ather Energy has officially teased the new 450 Apex electric scooter variant via its social media handles. The upcoming 450 Apex is expected to be the most potent variant in the 450 electric scooter range. Currently, the company sells two electric scooters in the market, namely the 450X with two battery pack choices and an optional Pro pack along with its most affordable offering, the 450S.
New Ather 450 Apex: Performance, battery pack, and electric motor
The 450 Apex is likely to get the 3.7kWh battery pack or perhaps a higher capacity unit paired with an electric motor with power output exceeding 6.4kW of the on-sale 450X. With this, the Apex should be quicker in the 0-40kmph acceleration compared to the 450X's 3.3 seconds. On the other hand, the top speed could be retained at 90kmph. Currently, the 450X with a 3.7kWh battery pack has a certified range of 150km, while the true range is claimed at 110km. We expect the 450 Apex to carry similar range figures.
New Ather 450 Apex: Features and specifications
The upcoming 450 Apex is expected to come equipped with all the bells and whistles, including the features offered in the Pro pack. Ather, at its community day event, had said that it was working on some new features, such as advanced regen, cruise control, and crawl control, that could debut with the new scooter. Other features may include auto-hold function, single disc setup at both ends, telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock, OTA updates, ride modes, Ather Connect, and more.
New Ather 450 Apex: Pricing
The new Ather 450X Apex is likely to command a higher premium of around Rs 15,000-25,000 over the on-sale 450X. The 450X with 3.7kWh and 2.9kWh battery packs cost Rs 1,44,921 and Rs 1,37,999 (both ex-showroom, Bangalore). Whereas, the 450S is priced at Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom).
