MG Motors to install 1000 AC fast chargers in residential areas under "MG Charge" initiative
Under MG Motor's new venture, "MG Charge" MG will install 1000 AC fast chargers at residential localities across India to build the ecosystem and provide customers with the convenience of charging infrastructure.
The SMART chargers will be Type 2 chargers, which will serve the majority of existing and future electric vehicles. The chargers will also be SIM-capable and backed by a scalable Charger Management System. To make this project a reality, MG will work with Electreefi (MG Developer Program & Grant 2.0 winner), Exicom, Echargebays, Resident Welfare Associations, and other new partners.
Residents and guests of these societies will be able to charge their electric vehicles at the linked AC charging stations, which will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As a result, societies will be able to prepare for the future, go green, and stimulate the transition to electric cars. It's also a purposeful decision to aid in the reduction of emissions and the preservation of the environment.
In the future, MG will continue to strengthen the community charger infrastructure with its partners and other RWAs. The company hopes that by doing so, it would be able to provide a smooth and easy vehicle charging experience across a variety of residential locations, therefore encouraging EV adoption. MG will work with RWA to provide end-to-end installation assistance, coordination, and support, reducing costs for the selected residential societies.

With this initiative, we will now have a 6-way charging solution for our customers and provide increased assurance and confidence."
