MG Hector facelift spotted undisguised ahead of January 5, 2023 launch

Undercover testing of the MG Hector facelift has recently been observed in an overseas market, most likely in the UK. The first thing that stands out is the brand-new, enormous diamond grille that covers the whole front.

The Hector's new front-end appearance was hinted at in a teaser from MG India, which featured a large diamond-patterned chrome grille as the focal point. A set of LED DRLs are placed on either side of it, and, as previously, LED projector headlights are positioned further down inside angular gloss black surrounds.

At the bottom of the bumper, there is a false skid plate, an air dam, and chrome trim. In general, the front-end style of the 2022 Hector is more angular and straight-edged than previously.

The 2022 Hector is not anticipated to receive any significant powertrain changes in India. Similar to the existing SUV, it should have the same 143PS 1.5-litre turbo petrol ICE, 143PS 1.5-liter petrol mild-hybrid, and 170PS 2-liter diesel powertrains. A CVT automatic transmission is an option for the ICE-only petrol powertrain, but a 6-speed manual gearbox is standard for the mild hybrid diesel and gasoline engines.

The dashboard features a brand-new 14-inch floating infotainment screen that is mounted vertically, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a seven-inch fully digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, touch controls for the air conditioning, an electronic parking brake, and an engine start-stop button.

The 2022 MG Hector is anticipated to coexist with the current-generation model and be more expensive than it, retailing for between Rs 14.42 lakh and Rs 20.35 lakh.
