Mercedes-Benz India records strongest-ever first half and Q2 sales

Mercedes-Benz has achieved the strongest-ever first-half of sales in India. It registered a sales of 8,528 units between January to June 2023, reporting 13 per cent growth, compared to 7,537 units sold in the same period of the last year. Not only that, it has also recorded the best-ever sales in the second quarter at 3,831 units as against the sales of 3,551 units in the Q2 in 2022. While Mercedes-Benz has already launched a few cars in the first half, it will bring more models to the country in the second half, including the new generation GLC by the third quarter of the year.

Mercedes-Benz India 2023 Sales Results

While the popular key models drove the sales growth in the first-half of this year, the brand posted 53 per cent year-on-year growth for its ultra-luxury vehicles and sporty AMG models. The E-Class LWB continued to be the single highest-selling model for the brand, whereas the GLE became the best-selling SUV in the first-half of this year, followed by the GLA. As mentioned earlier, the GLS, AMG G 63, S-Class, Maybach GLS, and Maybach S-Class were also in demand. Not to mention, the all-new C-Class also a added a significant contribution to the overall sales. Further, the sales of its electric vehicle line-up increased 10 times compared to the period of the previous year, thanks to the new in demand EQB and EQS.

Mercedes-Benz India launches so far

The German luxury auto giant recently introduced the AMG SL 55 Roadster in India. Before that, it brought G 440d, all-electric EQB 350 4Matic, A-Class facelift and refreshed A45 S, AMG GT 63 S E Performance, and the AMG E 53 Cabriolet.

Upcoming all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC

Mercedes-Benz will launch the new-gen GLC in the country by the Q3 this year. The second generation update has brought a slew of changes to the SUV, including a fresh look inside and out, new MBUX, advanced features, and electrified engines.

The international-spec all-new GLC comes with three petrol and diesel engines paired with mild hybrid functionality. These trims include GLC 200, GLC 300, and GLC 220d, while its PHEV range comprises three more versions, namely GLC 300e, GLC 400e, and GLC 300de. In fact, the PHEV models offer an increased EV-only range of up to 100km with a top speed of 140kmph. It is also to be noted that the 4Matic all-wheel drive system is now standard across the board.
