The luxury carmaker is partnering with Laureus Sport for Good in India to help children from underprivileged communities overcome social challenges by using the inspirational power of sport.

OSCAR (Organisation for Social Change Awareness and Responsibility) aims to empower children from the economically challenged sections of society by teaching them life skills using sports as a medium. Their project educates girls about various social and community issues through football. By utlising the support from Mercedes-Benz India and Laureus, OSCAR will expand its programme from one hub in South Mumbai to four new slums located in Mumbai.

Yuwa is based in Jharkhand and just like OSCAR it too uses sports as a medium to bring about social change. Yuwa operates in the rural areas of Jharkhand and one of its key focus areas is to prevent child marriages. It supports girls from underprivileged communities to continue with their education. Owing to the newfound support, Yuwa will be able to continue providing educational support from their school and fund the infrastructure related expenses.
