Mercedes-Benz India is preparing to kick off the new year with the debut of the facelifted GLA and the AMG GLE 53 Coupe in the nation. Both vehicles are in their second generation, and the updated models will be introduced on January 31, 2024. Let's take a look at what you should expect with the facelifted SUVs from Mercedes.

Mercedes Benz GLA Facelift

Under the hood, the 2024 GLA will keep the same powertrain options as its predecessor. It is still driven by a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine with 163PS/270Nm and a 2.0-litre diesel producing 150PS/320Nm. The petrol version is coupled to a seven-speed DCT, whilst the diesel variant has an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The mini SUV is likely to have substantial visual changes both inside and out. These include new LED headlights, a raised front fascia, altered wheel arches, and a revamped bumper, which an LED taillight unit will supplement at the rear. The minor cabin changes included in the GLA facelift, are an upgraded MBUX infotainment system, internal ambient lighting, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupe Facelift

In contrast, the AMG GLE 53 Coupe was unveiled about a year ago. In terms of design, the GLE and GLE Coupe have nearly identical front ends, while the SUV coupe's sweeping roofline is noticeable at the sides and back. The GLE Coupe for India, like the pre-facelift predecessor, will only be available in the 53 AMG version.

The AMG GLE 53 is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine combined with a 48V mild hybrid system. This powerplant produces 435PS and 520Nm of torque and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels using the brand's 4Matic technology.

Expect the updated GLA to be priced slightly higher than its current Rs 48.50 lakh starting price, while the GLE 53 Coupe will easily set you back over Rs 1 crore. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
