After being showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 as an EV concept design, we now have our first glimpse at the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX undergoing testing in Krakow, Poland. Spy photos show a completely disguised test mule at a charging station ahead of its launch in 2025. The eVX will be the first electric offering from Maruti Suzuki and will be followed by 5 other EVs from the brand by 2030.

Maruti Suzuki eVX: Dimensions and Design

In comparison to the fiercely muscled prototype, the test mule looks to have a more refined appearance. However, certain aspects, such as the butch front fascia, sculpted bonnet design, and heavy body cladding, have been carried through.

Maruti had already specified that the new SUV would be 4,300mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,600mm height. It will also have a wheelbase of 2,700mm.

The SUV features a tapering roofline, which contributes to its athletic appearance. The Suzuki EVX will sport an integrated spoiler and sharp tail lights with a full-width connecting LED strip, similar to the Fronx. It also has silver-coloured multi-spoke alloy wheels, front door-mounted ORVMs, a shark-fin antenna, a rear bumper-mounted number plate recess and a rear wiper.

Maruti Suzuki eVX: Interior

A slight look inside the forthcoming eVX test mule, we noticed a completely redesigned cockpit with a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a big dashboard screen that might have a fully digital instrument cluster and touchscreen entertainment system, and a floating centre console.

While most of it looks to be a work in progress, one thing which does stand out is the rotary dial in the centre console which will be the gear selector.

Maruti Suzuki eVX: Drivetrain

The Maruti Suzuki eVX electric SUV is based on an entirely new platform. According to Maruti, the new eVX SUV concept would have a 60kWh battery and a 550km range. The production version of this SUV is anticipated to feature a battery with a similar capacity and a real-world range of about 450km.

Power figures are expected to be somewhere between 140PS and 170PS. We also anticipate an all-wheel drive variant to be offered alongside the front-wheel drive standard offering.
