Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara set to launch in the month of December in India
Maruti Suzuki is set to launch its first all-electric SUV, the e-Vitara, in India by December 2025.

- The e-Vitara will be based on Maruti's Global C platform, the same underpinning as the Grand Vitara, with modifications to accommodate an electric powertrain.
- The upcoming EV will be equipped with a 54kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of around 550km on a single charge, according to internal estimates.
- It will support fast charging, enabling a 20-80% charge under 45 minutes using DC charging infrastructure.
The Maruti e-Vitara will carry forward the design of the Grand Vitara with subtle EV-specific touches. These include a closed-off front grille, redesigned LED lighting elements and aerodynamic alloy wheels to improve efficiency.
The interior of the SUV will offer a dual-screen setup, wireless smartphone connectivity and 360-degree camera system.
In terms of performance, the e-Vitara is expected to use a front-mounted electric motor producing approximately 139.91PS and 280Nm of torque. A dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variant could also be introduced at a later stage, catering to buyers seeking additional traction and performance.
The e-Vitara will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki's Suzuki Motor Gujarat(SMG) plant, which has been upgraded for EV production in collaboration with Toyota. The model will also share several components with the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, expected to launch around the same time. Pricing of the car is yet to be revealed.
