Mahindra XUV300 renamed to XUV 3XO and to be unveiled on April 29

The Mahindra XUV300 has been longing for a facelift for a while now and the homegrown brand looks all set to do the needful now. The facelift is quite an extensive one and the biggest talking point now is that the car will be renamed to the Mahindra XUV 3XO. We expect this same type of name for the whole XUV series that are currently on sale as well as the ones that are to be launched. The car will make its official debut on April 29.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Design

The XUV 3XO receives a considerable design overhaul to call it just a facelift. The styling characteristics are strongly inspired by Mahindra's BE SUV line-up, which is set to hit production in 2025.

The teaser photographs of the new Mahindra XUV 3X0 reveal a few crucial characteristics, including a new fascia with a split headlamp layout, LED projector headlights, circular fog lights, L-shaped LED DRLs, new dual-tone alloy wheels, and a yellow paint scheme. It also has a redesigned two-part grille with a diamond pattern and a bigger central air inlet on the bumper.

It will also gain new C-shaped LED taillights, a linked LED light bar on the tailgate, a rear wiper and washer, and 'XUV 3XO' writing on the back.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Powertrain

The engine options will remain the same and comprise a 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, a 130PS 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol, and a 117PS 1.5-litre diesel. All engines come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, with an optional 6-speed AMT available for turbo-petrol and diesel engines. Rumours also suggest that there's an electric powertrain in the works but is expected to debut only later this year.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Interior and Features

The Mahindra XUV 3XO's interior is set to undergo a comprehensive redesign. It might also get a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a redesigned central console, updated AC controls, a 360-degree camera, cooled seats, and rear AC vents. Its safety features will include seven airbags, electronic stability control, a rearview camera, and rear parking sensors, as well as a 360-degree camera, ABS, and electronic brake distribution. It remains to be seen whether Mahindra will launch the new XUV 3XO with ADAS.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Pricing and Rivals

Currently, the prices of the Mahindra XUV300 start from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 14.75 lakh. We expect the prices of the top-end variants to rise quite a bit with the slew of upgrades it seems to be getting. Upon launch, the XUV300 will renew its rivalry with the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue.
