Easily one of the most anticipated launches in the full-size SUV segment, the launch of the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift is finally upon us, after delays caused due to the pandemic. We have seen the updated Fortuner internationally before, and expect to see a similarly spruced up SUV here, one that packs cosmetic updates, as well as a bump in power from the 2.8-litre diesel apart from minor tweaks elsewhere, while the 2.7-litre petrol continues unchanged mechanically. The Fortuner facelift will also likely pack in an upgraded infotainment system with connected tech, as well as a tweaked features list. The top-spec Legender is also likely to be launched alongside the Fortuner facelift, which will carry all the same interior and powertrain updates, but in a sharper looking skin. Stay tuned for the updates right from the launch event, on engine specifications, features, styling updates and the price announcement.
Meanwhile, the Legender is only available with a 4x2 AT powertrain, priced at Rs 37.58 lakh, ex-showroom.
Prices for the New Fortuner start at Rs 29.98L for the petrol 4x2 MT, going up to Rs 37.43L for the diesel 4x4 AT.
Apart from a bump in power/torque figures on the 2.8L diesel to make it best-in-class, the new Toyota Fortuner adds in some key creature comforts including new infotainment with smartphone integration, & ventilated front seats.
Cosmetic updates on the Toyota new Fortuner include a larger grille, reshaped bumpers, redesigned skid plate, LED lights at either end and a new wheel design.
The Fortuner facelift will carry the same changes as seen on the international model, launched in Thailand last year. That list includes a tweaked fascia, new alloy wheel design, and slimmer LED tail lights.
Teasers of the Toyota Fortuner facelift confirm the introduction of the top-spec Legender model which has its own unique, sportier appeal, with staggered LED DRLs, a new grille and bumper design at either end.
